It's almost here....

So. Apparently Desperate in Dubai is going to be released on August 10 and I don't know how to feel about it.

It's always been my dream to publish a novel and now that it's almost ready for the world to see, I suddenly feel all naked and exposed.

What if no one likes it? What if people prefer the blog to the book? What if no one buys it? What if the critics absolutely slate it? Am I strong enough to handle the negative reactions that will undoubtedly come my way?

Everyone has a right to their own opinions. We thankfully live in an age where freedom of speech is accepted, appreciated, encouraged. You can't please everyone. I know that, but that doesn't stop the butterflies buzzing around in my stomach :(

I don't know where the book will be available (other than Amazon), I don't know how it will be received, but I suppose I do know one thing. No matter what anyone says, I know I've done myself proud. I've achieved my childhood dream, and that cannot be taken away. :)

SO DEEP BREATHS Ghost Writer... or Ameera as you will soon be known as. (Yes, I'm talking to myself in the third person :s ). Calm down, and just enjoy the ride while you can. After all, who knows when you'll be pulled onto his train again.

Congrats "Ameera" Any advice to give to young and budding blog writers out there?

Hi Ameera, I couldn't find your novel on Amazon. Could you please fill us in?

Thanks for all your comments everyone! For those who have been looking for the book, basically it's going to take time to reach Dubai, with all the red-tape it has to go through. It will be available on Amazon verrrry soon Inshallah. I'll keep you updated on my facebook page.

As for advice - what can I say? I'm hardly in the position to start giving advice out, my book has barely hit the shelves!

Hi everyone, thanks for your comments. The book is finally in Dubai bookstores - so far in Kinokuniya in Dubai Mall and Jashanmal in MOE. You can also order it from www.uread.com if you don't live in Dubai.

I started reading this blog when a friend of mine told me about it a few years ago. The racy chapters, the interesting stories and the demystification of a group of people most foreigners dont know about really did the trick for me. I loved reading about Lady Luxe and Leila and not so much about the other two characters.... in the blog. You could do that since, the two women didnt connect to the others, but in the book thats not the case... I dont want to say more but I got my hands on a copy and devoured it from cover to cover. The book is great, especially if you think about it being from a first time author. The blog had its pros, the book has its pros and the both have their cons too, but all in all the entire concept is one that the author can certainly pat herself on the back for. Cant wait for the next one... yes we want to see one more!!

Salams sister, I don't know if you are going to reply to this but I have two questions.

OK,
1- Is the book starting from where it ended (meaning chapter 28) or does it only includes the chapters 1 till 28.

2- I started reading this series (DID) couple of months ago. My question is that you mentioned about some changes in the book. So, do you reckon that I should buy the book and read it all over again (be honest sister lols). Thanks:).
3- Thirdly, I live in UK and can't seem to buy the book in stores or online. I tried Amazon but it's not their yet. Any other place where I can order or download on my kindle?
Bless you and play safe and good luck with the book.
Wasalam and good luck:)

Salaam anon! Thanks for your message - although if you want to ask me anything, it's better to get in touch through my Facebook page!

1 - No, the book starts from the beginning and goes right up to chapter 40-something! You can't write a book that starts halfway through a story :D

2 - I recommend starting the book at the beginning as I've made some changes and you'll be completely lost if you start reading the book from chapter 29!

3 - If you live in the UK, the best way to get hold of a copy is by ordering it from www.uread.com - it will cost approx 13 pounds and will get to you in less than a week.

Hope that helps :)

I once read that to avoid criticism, do nothing, say nothing, be nothing.
Sometimes criticism is an actual blessing because it shows that you actually did something.

Keep it up!
